Education and Experience

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Central Washington University in 2010. After graduation, I worked full time as a residential counselor at a group home for children with severe behavioral disorders. I loved the work I was doing with these kids and realized I had a passion for working with children with unique needs. I decided to go back to school to become a mental health counselor.

In 2013, I completed my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University and graduated with high honors. After graduation, I completed an internship and was then hired on in the Child and Family Services program at Sound Mental Health, the largest nonprofit community mental health agency in King County. I spent over four years working directly with children, teens, adults and families treating a wide range of mental health issues, before I moved into private practice in 2017.

State Credentials and Training

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State.   I am also recognized as a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) in Washington State, a distinction awarded only after one has accumulated at least two years' experience working with children along with over 100 hours of specialized training in child and adolescent therapy.

Specialized training I have received includes the following:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety, Depression and Behavior Management

  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT)

  • Mindfulness training

Continuing Education and consultation

I continue to participate in ongoing education and consultation. The mental health field is always growing and changing, and it's not only important but necessary to continue to grow and develop myself.  In addition to the hours of continuing education required by Washington State, I continuously seek out training and learning opportunities.

I also believe in the importance of regular consultation with other professionals. I regularly seek out consultation from other providers to ensure I am providing the best treatment possible for my clients.
